I believe the information in the brochure is very interesting, clear, and beneficial. I was very surprised to learn that positive events like marriage can also create stress and depression. Also, I was pleased to learn that family members or friends can be advocates for health promotion as they can aid in the healing process, help victims meet their appointments, and so on. Although there was no data, figures, or statistics in the brochure, most of the information given is credible and backed by scientific research. For example, the results of the study done by Grant, Guille, & Sen (2015) support Speak Up’s theory, noting that depression is characterized by withdrawal, fatigue, eating less or more, oversleeping, and loss of interest in activities. Lastly, I believe the information presented will promote the health and safety of patients because it gives clear directions about what needs to be done and where to find further assistance, such as information about referrals, mental health aid, and medication help.
