The results from my Gallup assessment showed that I like to learn and seek to know more. I also like to have intellectual discussions with others. I do not enjoy conflicts, but rather, I will always opt to find a solution fast without discriminating against anyone. I avoid conflict as much as I can by ensuring that I set clear rules and see to it that they are adhered to. To be certain that this is achieved, I offer support to the best of my level, I aim to increase independence and productivity and encourage autonomy.

Some of the areas I would like to strengthen would be open communication. I would like my team members to feel safe enough to communicate their ideas. Psychological safety in the workplace is very important as it allows employees to be open and honest without fear of discrimination and repercussions (Kessel, Kratzer, & Schultz, 2012). I want to be that leader who constantly creates a safe psychological space for my team members. This means I will need to improve my listening and communication skills and motivational skills that will encourage employees. I will also need to work on my body language so that I am less intimidating and more welcoming of opinions from team members.

I would like to see my team members grow in their careers and have a good work-life balance. When employees are satisfied with their jobs and are not struggling with balancing their lives, they tend to be more productive, focused, and motivated to work (Lazar, Osoian & Raitu, 2010). Therefore, keeping my promises and fulfilling expectation as regards them will be the core values I will grow.
