Preparation for project problems

An organization can prepare for a project by looking at the history to identify possible problems that may occur during the project execution (Laufer, 2015). Also, preparation can be achieved by building a contingency into the project schedule. Organizations can also ensure that there are resources put in place to facilitate the solution of any problem. The last preparation for a project is ensuring the use of the right playbook during execution. This entails following the right procedure so that the chances of difficulty arising in the project execution process is minimized.

Responding to problems

If a problem arises when handling a project, a seven-stop procedure is best for use (Whitney, 2013). First, the organization manager creates a register. This is to arrive at a mutually agreed issue to be solved. The second step is logging issues, ensuring that everyone who can help in the solution process is available. Third, the project management assigns actions to professionals. The management then monitors the progress of the actions by the professionals. The progress impact is then assessed by looking at the extent to which the issue has been solved. The last step is approving the resolution and closing it up when the issue is finally solved.
